TRF FAMILY SPOTLIGHT
Meet Gerardo.
He’s from Alaska but has been at Seattle Children’s Hospital since mid-April, when he had a bone marrow transplant. Gerardo and his mom Elma, are FINALLY GOING HOME – back to Anchorage, in early August, and they couldn’t be more excited.
They’ll finally be back with Gerardo’s 2 younger brothers and his dad. Gerardo’s family shifted from a two-income family to a one-income family as a result of his cancer diagnosis and treatment, so the family’s income has been cut in half.
TRF has supported this amazing family by paying their mortgage monthly, and by offsetting their medical travel expenses.
In less than one month Gerardo will be turning 18. His family is planning to celebrate his life and his victory over cancer!
Funds donated to TRF directly impact families just like this, with over 85% of every dollar raised going straight into grant funds. |
