Mateo Bravo
In Fall 2013 when Mateo Bravo was 15-years-old, he was admitted to the Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA and learned that he had AML Leukemia. His Mom, Sonia, the sole provider for the family, was forced to quit her job to be by her son’s side as he began his battle.
On January 30, 2014, Mateo had a bone marrow transplant.
“It’s been a heartbreaking journey but Mateo’s positive attitude has been humbling [to see]. The pain and agony that he endured; no child should have to go through that,” said Sonia.
Your support of TRF has helped us pay off the Bravo’s family car so they would always have a way to get to and from the hospital. TRF has also provided additional financial relief so Sonia and her family of four can focus on what matters most… and what matters most at this very moment is Mateo.
