Behind the Curtain – The Faces of TRF

Behind the Curtain – The Faces of TRF

This is the first in a series of Meet the Faces behind TRF.

Meet Annmarie “Breezy” Mauger Wilmeth, Secretary to the Executive Board of Directors of The Tyler Robinson Foundation.

Breezy brings more than 28 years experience as a fundraising professional to the Board of Directors. A consultant for the Sheridan Group, her development expertise includes nonprofit management, strategic planning, capital and annual campaign management. She has presented at the National Association of Independent Schools/Council of Advancement and Support of Education and Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington conferences. Breezy attended Auburn University where she majored in Special Education. She resides with her family in Northern Virginia.

What is the one thing you want people to know about TRF?  That it came to be from one single moment of courage on Jesse’s part, and a lifetime of courage on Tyler’s part. Anything is possible if we all work together to be part of the difference in people’s lives.

What was your first experience with TRF? Jesse Robinson. He hooked me.

Give me five words to describe yourself:  Fun, crazy, dedicated, irreverent, smart

How did you get the nickname Breezy? My father, when I was 18-months-old. Started out as “Annreezy” (Annmarie)…shortened to Breezy. It fits.

You have worked in the nonprofit world for 30 years, what singular lesson have you learned?  It’s about the people, not the money. Building relationships and being true to your cause is critical.

What will TRF look like a year from now? Organized, lean, mean foundation that has a real impact on middle class families who are dealing with their child’s pediatric cancer, as well as an advocacy piece for pediatric cancer research.

Do you have a favorite TRF story? Morgan Platt and Connecticut.

What is it like to work with Imagine DragonsA dream. Pinch me. Our Board is comprised of dedicated, smart, talented, hardworking people who really want to make a difference in this world.  Mac, Dan, Ben, Wayne and Platz are the BEST humans, ever.

Favorite inspirational quote: “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”
