TRF Sparrow: December 2023

Thank you for showing up for the pediatric cancer community in 2023 — and here’s to reaching even more families in 2024! 💜

As we all head into the holiday season, we wanted to share a few final updates.

‘Tis the Season of Giving!

Looking for ways to give gifts that keep giving throughout the holidays and beyond to support families battling pediatric cancer? Deliver joy this holiday season when you purchase with purpose with TRF to help ease  the burden pediatric cancer families experience and help make their season brighter.

🎁 Make a list, check it twice and add a few more gift cards in your cart for TRF! Help give TRF families the flexibility of getting gifts they need this holiday season with gift cards. Gift-givers can purchase gift cards in any denomination to help make this holiday season bright for TRF families battling a childhood cancer diagnosis. Gift cards can be sent via email to info@trf.org or directly to TRF’s office at 823 South Las Vegas Blvd Suite 220, Las Vegas, NV 89101.

🎁 Wear your support on your sleeve with exclusive merch at shop.trf.org, including TRF-branded baseball hats, crewneck sweatshirts and t-shirts with TRF-embroidered logo, our new Croc Jibbitz, exclusive Imagine Dragons memorabilia and more!

🎁 Create something to brighten a TRF kid’s day! We are always accepting art, cards, and short letters with positive messages to share with our TRF kids and families. Email your submissions to penpal@trf.org or go to trf.org/writeatrfkid to learn more.

🎁 Looking for the perfect gift for the person who has everything? A donation “in honor of” a loved one shows that one person can truly make a difference while celebrating the spirit of the season. No matter the amount, financial donations of all amounts help TRF’s mission to help strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing grants specifically to offset out-of-pocket life expenses.

1… 2… 2023 By The Numbers!

As 2023 comes to a close and we prepare to welcome 2024, we want to thank you for your remarkable, unwavering support this past year. Your efforts made a direct impact on families dealing with a pediatric cancer diagnosis. In fact, with your help, TRF provided:

  • More than 10,000 pediatric cancer families with support in 2023.
  • Over 500,000 payments to TRF Families since our organization’s inception with almost half of those payments made during this past year with our international partners.
  • More than 1,000 Pen Pal letters to our TRF Families, sharing messages of hope and support to brighten their day.
  • 30 Team TRF and Ambassador events, where supports combine their talents and efforts to raise money for TRF and families affected by pediatric cancer

With the end of the year around the corner, we embark on our final giving campaign of the year. Our goal is to strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing grants specifically to offset out-of-pocket life expenses.

Will you join us in easing the emotional, mental and financial burden on pediatric cancer families?

TRF Family Corner

Help us celebrate and congratulate our families’ milestones throughout fall and winter!

Even though Kimber J. has continued to go through testing for additional treatment, she recently was chosen by her classmates to be in her campus pageant and carnival. She is so loved by her school classmates and staff, as well as her TRF family!

This November, Natalie W. started Cycle 3 of Leukemia maintenance therapy. She’s doing well, although she had some complications over the summer. Natalie is now back at school full time and almost to normal life!

Benji S. and his family were celebrated at NFL Green event, where NFL Commissioner Goodell personally handed him tickets to Super Bowl LVIII! Nine-year-old Benji has faced brain and thyroid cancer, and despite the cancer returning, he has finally reached remission.

Happy birthday to our past and upcoming late fall and early winter birthdays! 🎂
